Where should you look for millipedes in a home?

Millipedes are creatures that thrive in damp and dark environments, which makes cracks and crevices in a home particularly attractive to them. These spaces provide ideal habitats, offering moisture and protection from light and predators. They often seek shelter in areas with decaying organic matter or where humidity levels are higher, such as in basements, around plumbing, or within wall voids.

While inspecting under sinks or inside cabinets might lead to finding some pests due to moisture, cracks and crevices are a more common hiding place for millipedes. Attics, on the other hand, typically have lower humidity and are less suitable for millipedes, making it an unlikely area for finding them. Hence, focusing on cracks and crevices offers the best chance of locating where millipedes may be residing within a home.
